Serving your Solar Power needs from two locations:
After serving with the 82nd Airborne Division in the early 70’s, Bill attended the University of Houston studying Business Administration then began a career in the mortgage business. Twenty-five years later Bill was building custom homes on Lake Travis as Owner and Project Manager of Tara Homes.
During the Austin boom, energy efficiency and renewability were becoming in demand, so Bill started to build using smart house technology. Since 2008, the cost of solar technology has come down by around 65% making this the one area that has become a great investment financially and environmentally.
“I see the future of solar in Texas booming for many reasons. It is a viable choice for lowering cost and dependency on the traditional sources of energy. I am now firmly positioned as the co-owner of Greater Texas Solar to be part of making this an affordable reality for our clients throughout Central Texas and beyond.”
Raised on a ranch in Wyoming, Keith Kaan worked in the oilfield service industry for most of his career. Keith graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Science from the University of Wyoming and had a fascinating career as an innovator for companies like Schlumberger.
Keith moved to Mason, Texas in 1998 where he purchased and restored several old homes and began volunteering for the local Habitat for Humanity affiliate. He spent the past 12 years designing and supervising the construction of energy efficient, affordable homes that were fitted with Solar PV systems to make them “Net-Zero’.
Keith’s keen interest in solar energy to Central Texas lead him to start Greater Texas Solar Energy with partner Bill Skinner. “I have been watching the solar industry over several years and find it fascinating. I believe in what we are doing and wake up every day excited to help home and business owners take control of their energy futures.”
